Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The controller of personal data is Focus People s.r.o., company ID (IČO): 02164469, registered office at Čalounická 477, 739 34 Šenov, Czech Republic. Contact for data protection matters: focuspeople@focuspeople.eu.

2. What data we process

Account: name, e-mail address, and account identifier.

Orders and payments: purchased items, amounts, variable symbol, and payment progress data passed by the payment gateway (never card numbers — those are processed exclusively by the payment gateway).

Billing details stated on invoices.

Platform usage data: course progress, webinar participation.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Performance of the contract: maintaining the account, providing access to purchased content, order-related communication.

Compliance with legal obligations: issuing and retaining invoices under accounting and tax law.

Legitimate interest: platform security, abuse prevention, and service improvement.

4. Recipients and processors

Amazon Web Services (hosting, EU data centres — Frankfurt region).

Comgate a.s. (online payment processing).

Fakturoid s.r.o. (invoice issuance).

Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4 — loaded only after you opt in via the cookie banner, and only when analytics is configured).

5. Retention

Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. Invoices and related data are kept for 10 years as required by the Czech VAT Act. Other data is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose of the processing.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest.

You can close your learner account yourself from the Profile page (see section 7). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).

7. Closing your account

Signed-in learners can close the account from Profile → Close account. That deletes the Cognito sign-in, course access, webinar seats, notifications, assignment enrollments, quiz attempts, ratings, AI usage counters, and the profile photo.

Paid and refunded orders, invoices, and credit notes are kept as a tax ledger (the learner identity on those rows is replaced with an irreversible token). Closing the account is not a refund. Staff and commission-recipient accounts cannot use self-service closure — contact focuspeople@focuspeople.eu.

The 10-year invoice retention period is pending accountant sign-off before production launch.

8. Cookies

Necessary cookies: NEXT_LOCALE (language preference), fp_asgn (assigned-course access link), fp_vid (anonymous visitor identifier), and fp_consent (your cookie consent choice). Sign-in state is stored in your browser's local storage. These are required for the platform to work and do not need consent.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): _ga and _ga_XXXXXXXXXX (visit and session measurement, up to 2 years). They are set only if you opt in via the cookie consent banner — without your consent the Google script is never loaded, so no analytics cookie is created. Advertising and Google Signals stay switched off even after you opt in. We also keep a few local storage flags so a purchase or course completion is not counted twice. You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings button below or in the page footer.

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
